Knocker kinetic Ring
Our knocker kinetic Ring makes for a substantial piece that has been crafted of thick solid sterling silver.
This ring is made to last.
The band is cut and formed by hand to achieve a clean, even surface that sits flat and comfortable on the finger.
The bronze pieces were hand carved and shaped until they took on the character of small architectural objects.
Once carved, I fitted both onto the silver band with hinge pins so that the top section can move when handled.
The form itself is drawn from architectural fittings and more specifically from door hardware like door knockers, hinges and handles.. things that invite touch.
I treated the bronze fittings like tiny functional objects, not only as decoration, so they read as both mechanisms and motifs when worn.
The contrast between the cool, smooth silver and the patina-ready bronze makes the two metals read differently over time.
